Shipping Clerk
REPORTS TO: Shipping Manager
REQUIREMENTS: • High School Diploma • Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents preferred PRINCIPLE
OBJECTIVES: • Overall monitoring of merchandise leaving the warehouse.
• Count, pull/pick, or stack parts in preparation of customer requirements.
• Create shipping documents
• Pull inventory from shelves
• Monitor each shipment to make sure that outgoing packages are packed correctly and accurately
• Print shipping labels, schedule pick-ups, and ensure that each package has the proper postage
• Prepare shipments for local or long-distance delivery
• Track shipment delivery statuses and perform inventory control
• Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy
• Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
• Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
• Track inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the website
• Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) .
• Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Understanding of production and plant processes
• Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Show continual improvement by participating in educational opportunities, including both personal and professional development
• Ability to operate a forklift
