Job Description

• Aid in developing and maintaining a safe work environment, in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and policies established by our Corporation
• Ensure that all PPE supplied is worn correctly
• Load, unload and transfer materials within plant and yard.
• Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey loads to destination using lift trucks
• Ensure finished goods are safely stored in the yard while awaiting shipment to customer
• During transfer of finished goods to yard, bring any fabrication or paint deficiencies to the attention of the Shipper / Receiver and Management
• Load finished goods on trucks in a manner that is safe and efficient, while maintaining allotted load budgets
• Ensure accuracy of shipments
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to ensure the yard is free of clutter
• Foster a climate of continuous improvement in safety, production and crew relations
• Build / maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.

Skills

• Good verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of operating manual & procedures

Education

• Lift truck operating experience (forklift)

• Hourly position (potential for overtime)
