**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Safety # 1
Prepares packing slips, Bill of Lading (BOL) and export documents when necessary.
Conducts final inspection of all company paperwork related to shipping.
General housekeeping in accordance with the Traffic / Shipping expectations.
Assists Sales department on shipping issues.
Assists customers on paperwork issues such as reprinting, fixing, and emailing of the documents.
Coordinates required activities for export shipments.
Schedules inbound freight from the mills.
Responsible for giving driving directions to carriers when they call.
Responsible for maintaining information regarding NAFTA.
Contacts carriers when items are ready for shipment.
Utilizes freight tables to verify correct shipping cost.
Processes all UPS / FedEx shipments via computer.
Matches signed BOL with Sales order. Finalizes BOL if necessary.
Assists Invoicing Clerk, if required.
Prepares certifications in accordance with Sales order request.
Assists with training of new personnel.
Assists with loading and unloading of the trucks.
Matches paperwork with shipment(s).
Organizes shipping floor / stages daily shipments.
Assists with receiving of the incoming freight.
Assists in receiving and recording of non-conforming material.
Loads and unloads turnstiles for 50” slitter and CTL.
Assists with packaging of As Is orders.
OTHER DUTIES:
Housekeeping, sweep, pick up in shipping/receiving areas.
Keep the scrap skids in order and deliver to the processor when a truckload is collected.
Other Shipping/Receiving duties as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer experience using and operating the following equipment and tools: Tape measure, Micrometer, Calipers, Crane, Fork lift truck, Bander, Band cutters and Side Loader.
