Primary Responsibilities:

Shipping Duties

  • Confirm shipments and Maintain records for auditing at the Chattanooga facility.

  • Enter on excel total sheet for balancing

  • If duplicate shipment research and provide information to the manager

  • Recall shipments back from carriers or pulled before leaving the dock

  • Ability to identify short shipments and raise awareness to manager

  • Look in TMS for freight charges on freight shipments

  • Communicate dollars shipped daily to manager

  • Dispute resolution - Communicate with customer service by providing tracking and documentation on shipments

  • Create bill of ladings, ensuring accuracy so shipments are invoiced every day

  • Print Shippers and file accordingly

  • Generate Miscellaneous shipping Memos and documentation

  • File Debit Memos

  • Investigate customer disputes for the Accounting and Credit department

  • Gather dispute information by providing copies of shipment and signed POD is to determine whether a claim is accepted or denied

  • Research discrepancies of shipments for Canada and West Coast Warehouse

  • Invoice shippers daily

  • Update accounting spreadsheet daily and compare with Hash Report

  • Assist with receiving outside OP's that have arrived on the dock each day

  • Assist with E-mailing purchasing with any problems

  • Assist with correcting all e-mail issues on receiving

  • Assist with Tungsten issues

  • Receive packing list into JD Edwards for OP's

  • Correct prior night receiving that had issues

  • Perform cycle counts as needed and directed by the Supervisor

Receiving Duties

  • Direct inbound shipments to receiving area

  • Perform physical count of parts received and verify product is free from damage

  • Compare manifest/packing slip counts to actual count of parts received

  • Notate and initial paperwork after deliveries have been confirmed

  • Alert Purchasing department to all receiving issues and discrepancies

  • Record receipts into internal inventory system as required

  • May Coordinate deliveries with appropriate departments to ensure receiving area stays clear to receive parts at all times

  • Assist in annual inventory count

  • Keep and update daily receiving files

  • Coordinate with Quality for incoming RGA’s/RMA’s

  • Collaborate with Purchasing to streamline efficiency and accuracy of incoming receipts

General Duties

  • Work safely in the manufacturing production environment

  • Follow detailed verbal/written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures

  • Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly

  • Communicate and work effectively with others

  • Provide hands-on and verbal job function training to coworkers as needed

  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor

  • Record daily all work performed and correct distribution of work time

  • Use software systems as needed to complete job duties

  • Contribute to culture of high-quality products

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions

  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor per CBA and company policies

  • The Supervisor will instruct each employee in the responsibilities as listed in the procedures

  • The Supervisor will inform each employee where to access the procedure manual

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work with your hands

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold)

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach at arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Ability to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory tools

  • Ability to work around hot heavy machinery

  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time

  • Ability to move materials with a powered vehicle (forklift)

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Proficiency in ERP planning systems

  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures

  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to develop professional relationships with coworkers across facility

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

  • Repetitive standing, bending, turning, and twisting for extended periods of time

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision

  • Must be able to pass a basic aptitude test, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screen

  • Candidates must be available to work all shifts including possible mandatory overtime on weekends

  • Previous experience in a foundry setting

Required and/or Recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Hard Hat

  • Safety Glasses

  • Hearing Protection

  • Face Mask

  • Protective Clothing

  • Steel Toe/Met Guard Shoes

Required Education/Experience:

  • Must have high school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience

Work is scheduled Monday through Saturday. Shifts are 8 to 10 hours with mandatory overtime shifts. Overtime is paid on time and worked over 40 hours a week. The facility does have multiple shifts, employees MUST be flexible and may be required to change shifts.
