Job Description

Hatfield Metal Fabrication is seeking a dependable, motivated Shipping & Packing Assistant to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in preparing high-quality fabricated metal products for shipment while ensuring orders are packaged accurately, safely, and on time.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Package fabricated metal parts and assemblies for shipment.
• Prepare products for UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, and customer pickups.
• Verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
• Label, wrap, band, and palletize materials as required.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks (training available if needed).
• Maintain accurate shipping paperwork and packing lists.
• Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying deliveries.
• Keep the shipping and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or packaging experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills are helpful.
• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
