Job Overview:

Schedule: 6:00 AM- 4:30 Monday-Thursday

CLIMATE CONTROLLED FACILITY

PAY: $21-30 per hour. The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.


About the Role:

The Sheet Metal Setup - Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by ensuring that sheet metal components are accurately set up and processed according to specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of machinery to produce high-quality products that meet industry standards. Operators will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various sheet metal fabrication equipment. The end result of this role is to contribute to the efficient production of metal components that are essential for various applications in the manufacturing sector. Ultimately, the operator's work directly impacts the overall productivity and quality of the manufacturing process.

SHEET METAL SETUP - OPERATOR Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  •  At least 3 years of applicable sheet metal equipment setup and operation experience
  •  Training or equivalent experience with conventional equipment and hand tools        

SHEET METAL SETUP - OPERATOR Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification in machining or metal fabrication.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and programming.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

SHEET METAL SETUP - OPERATOR Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication machines, including laser cutters, press brakes, and shears.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and production requirements.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate various sheet metal machinery effectively. Attention to detail is essential, as operators must ensure that all components meet precise specifications. Problem-solving skills are also crucial, as operators will need to troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments during production. Preferred skills, such as CNC programming knowledge, will enhance the operator's ability to work with advanced machinery, leading to increased efficiency. Overall, a combination of technical skills and practical experience will enable the operator to contribute significantly to the manufacturing process.

 

This position demands physical strength, endurance, and precision to fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using industrial tools and machinery. Candidates must be comfortable with repetitive tasks, heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs.), standing for a long periods of time, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and working in a fast-paced production setting.
