Job Overview:
Position: Sewing Machine Operator
Location: Landrum, SC
Pay: $16/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Sewing Machine Operator to join our team in Landrum. This role involves assembling product parts using industrial sewing equipment, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform sewing operations to assemble product parts under limited supervision.
Receive product components, follow correct assembly order, thread needles, and adjust machine settings as needed.
Meet daily production and quality goals while contributing to team problem-solving and process improvement.
Perform daily machine maintenance and notify supervisors of any issues or discrepancies.
Follow instructions, complete assigned work, and assist with other duties as needed.
Practice energy conservation, such as turning off machines when not in use.
Maintain responsibility for quality and stop production if necessary to correct issues.
Required Skills:
Reliable, predictable attendance.
Ability to follow all safety and company policies.
Good communication skills with peers and supervisors.
Sewing skills and ability to cross-train on hemming, overlock, felling, single needle, binding, and tacking processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Basic computer knowledge for data entry on tablets or computers.
Ability to change needles, threads, and bobbins on sewing machines.
Physical Requirements:
20/20 vision (corrected acceptable).
Ability to stand for an entire shift.
Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work in a moderate noise environment.
Ability to reach, bend, and stretch throughout the day.
Able to distinguish colors and shades.
