Job Posting Information – Four Slide Set Up Tech 

SUMMARY 

Sets up and operates one or more slide forming machines to automatically punch, cut, and form metal strips and wire by action of opposing rams to fabricate parts such as spring washers, brackets, and clips by performing the following duties.  Also, assumes responsibility for general housekeeping duties and striving toward continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify operating condition of machine.
• Identify all the major components of a fourslide.
• Confirm operation of all machine lubrication systems.
• Apply and confirm lubrication levels.
• Confirm proper operation of all safety devices.
• Verify operation of all sensor devices.
• Verify correct material at machine.
• Verify delivery of material to tooling.
• Start-up, selecting cams, forming tools, and die according to setup procedures.
• Aligns and bolts specified cams to shaft, slides to bed and forming tools and die to slides.
• Turns flywheel by hand to produce sample part to blueprint specification.
• Confirm separation of production parts from slug and other contamination.
• Apply and conform to all SPC documentation.
• Perform required quality checks and verify part conformance.
• Provide set-up training.
• Assist and train operators with setup and quality issues.
• Apply and conform to all QJI's (Job Instructions).
• Ability to use tool room equipment.
• Provide and train in all sensor applications.
• Provide and train in operating die pro 1500.
• Provide and train in operating omrons.
• Provide and train in operating PLC.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• Technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SPC Training
• Blueprint Reading
• Sensor Training
