CNC Set Up Operator

Location: Peterborough, New Hampshire

The Purpose of the Role

The CNC Set Up Operator will be responsible for setting and optimising CNC machining or grinding equipment to produce precision components to exact dimensional and quality standards. The role plays a key part in supporting production teams, reducing downtime and ensuring efficient machine performance.

As the CNC Set Up Operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and adjusting CNC lathes, machining centres or precision grinding machines
• Loading programs, tooling and offsets to achieve required specifications
• Entering and adjusting machine parameters including speeds, feeds and tool compensation
• Performing first-off inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Troubleshooting machine, tooling and process issues to maintain production efficiency
• Supporting Machine Operators with technical guidance and process improvements
• Ensuring all products meet aerospace and medical quality standards

As the CNC Set Up Operator, you will bring:

• Previous experience setting up CNC machining or grinding equipment
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets, machine adjustments and process optimisation
• Experience using precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers and gauges
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
