Service Technician – Electromechanical
Position Summary
The Electromechanical Technician diagnoses and repairs electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical issues in industrial equipment within a repair facility. This role identifies failure modes, determines repair requirements, and restores equipment to serviceable condition through hands-on repair and validation.
Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Troubleshooting
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical failure modes in motors, servo systems, brakes, gearboxes, and related equipment
Identify root cause and contributing factors when possible
Test, troubleshoot, and validate components and overall system performance
Utilize electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools and test equipment to support troubleshooting and validation
Repair & Rebuild Execution
Perform mechanical disassembly, inspection, repair, and rebuild of industrial equipment
Repair and replace motors, brakes, encoders, bearings, seals, shafts, and related components
Execute repairs in accordance with internal procedures and quality standards
Support integration and functional testing of repaired systems
Validate equipment meets defined operational and performance requirements prior to release
Own assigned repair jobs from intake through final validation and release
Documentation & Reporting
Document failure modes, repair actions, and key technical findings in a structured, technically accurate format
Record test results and other relevant operational data
Provide technical input required for warranty determination and service reporting
Collaboration & Escalation
Work with Mechanical Technicians and other team members on multi-discipline issues
Escalate complex, unclear, or systemic issues to engineering or support resources when required
Communicate findings and recurring issues to support continuous improvement
Shop Operations & Safety
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Support workflow, equipment handling, and shop productivity goals
Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Qualifications
Required
5+ years of electromechanical or electrical repair experience
Strong diagnostic ability with motors, servo systems, and powered mechanical assemblies
Ability to troubleshoot integrated electromechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
Preferred
Experience with industrial motion control, drives, or servo systems
Experience in manufacturing, service, or equipment rebuild environments
Exposure to failure analysis or root cause evaluation
Physical Demands
Ability to work in a manufacturing and repair environment
Regular standing, bending, and movement throughout the facility
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
Extended use of tools, equipment, and computer systems
