Job Overview:

Jersey Boys Plumbing, Heating, and Air is a family-owned home services company serving

Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington Counties in South Jersey, in business since 1983. We are hiring a residential service plumber to run service and repair calls out of our Gibbstown and Audubon shops.

This is a customer-facing field role. The technician diagnoses the problem, walks the

homeowner through their options, does the work, and builds the kind of relationship that earns repeat calls and reviews. Every job runs through ServiceTitan on a company tablet. A company truck and equipment are provided. The role includes a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend coverage. Reports to the owners and service manager.

Compensation

Pay structure: $35/hr plus commission on sold and performed work

Realistic target for a strong service plumber: $35-$40hr

Benefits: Company truck and fuel card provided. 10 paid time off (PTO) days. Health

benefits with a 50% company contribution, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Paid holidays and ongoing technical training opportunities are also included.

On-call pay: Hourly (Overtime) when you leave your house to when you return to your

house. Bonus: Job sold, completed, and collected the same day. Customer paid in full

before you leave. Job subtotal $750+, you receive $100, Job sold, 1/3 deposit collected,

return visit scheduled. Customer committed in writing. Job subtotal $750+ - you receive

$50, Forfeited if job cancels for any reason.

Review: Score card review quarterly.

Must-Haves

Hands-on residential plumbing service and repair experience.

Able to diagnose and repair common residential plumbing: water heaters, fixtures, leaks,

drains, sump pumps, gas lines, and similar.

Valid driver's license and a driving record that qualifies them to operate a company vehicle.

Professional and at ease in customers' homes. This person is the face of the company at

the door.

Comfortable using a tablet and field software to manage their day, build estimates, and

close out jobs.

Physically able to do the work: lifting, crawl spaces, attics, kneeling, and the rest of it.

Able to pass our standard background check and drug screen.

Strong Preferences

A residential service-and-replace background specifically, not only new construction,

commercial, or underground.

Experience presenting good-better-best options and asking for the sale. Our best techs

serve at the highest level, they don't just fix the cheapest or smallest thing and leave.

ServiceTitan experience is huge plus

Experience selling or presenting service memberships.

Local to South Jersey, or an easy commute to Gibbstown or Audubon.

Nice to Have

Drain and sewer experience: cabling, hydro jetting, camera inspections, water and sewer

line work.

Gas line and tankless water heater installation experience.

HVAC cross-training. We run heating and cooling too, and a tech who can grow into both

trades is valuable.

Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Ideal Candidate Profile

The person we want builds rapport fast and treats every call like it is their own business on the line.

They diagnose well, explain things in plain language, present options without being pushy, and close.

They communicate with dispatch, follow the process, and own their numbers.

They are hungry, they want to be busy, and they want to grow into a fully revenue-generating role rather than coast.

Our strongest tech came up through underground and new-construction work and turned into a real residential salesperson once the service side clicked. So we are open to that path for the right person who has the drive. What we can't train is character and work ethic. The trade skills we can build on.

Disqualifiers and Warning Signs

Only new construction, commercial, or union-shop experience, with no interest in

residential service work.

for the sale.

A pattern of short stints, leaving jobs every few months with no clear reason.

Unwilling to take part in an on-call rotation.

Cannot pass a background check, drug screen, or motor vehicle record check.

Poor communication or a rough attitude with customers. We are a WOW Service company

and the tech is the brand at the door.

Service Area and Location

We operate out of two South Jersey shops, Gibbstown (08027) and Audubon (08106), and cover Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington Counties. The right hire needs to reliably cover that territory day to day.

Worth confirming up front: someone commuting from across the bridge in the Philadelphia area, or from far enough away that traffic and tolls become a daily drag, may not stick.

Reliable coverage of our service area matters more than where someone technically lives, so ask directly how they feel about the drive and the territory.
