JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of the Service Pickup & Deliver Driver is to pick-up / deliver new and used trucks and vehicles repaired by Kenworth Sales Company to customers, branch locations, and, wholesalers. Duties will also include daily maintenance and repairs of facilities and grounds as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a current and valid Commercial Driver's License for Class 7 & 8 tractors and trucks.
- Maintains an excellent driving record, and completes all requirements for keeping CDL in good standing including physical exams, drug tests, driver's logbook, etc.
- Maintains courteous and continuing relations with port authorities, highway patrol, Departments of Transportation and Motor Vehicles in the course of this employment.
- Deliver trucks to customers
- Be available for pickup and delivery of units as needed.
- Outside maintenance as needed on a daily / weekly basis. Sweeps and picks up trash daily. Snow removal as needed. Helps establish and maintain higher facility standards
- Perform minor repairs including shop machines or tools,wall repair, painting, lights, windows, doors, desks or any other repairs needed within the facility.
- Assist management with operations as the need arises.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Current, valid Commercial Driver's License in good standing.
- Clean Driving record.
- General knowledge of mechanical components of Class 7 and 8 trucks.
- Familiarity with trucking industry and the requirements for transporting Class 7 & 8 tractors and trucks within and between the different states.
- Working knowledge of the federal highway system.
- Excellent organization, communication, and driving skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is physically demanding. Will lift various things the weigh up to 50lbs.Will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle and feel. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must climb in and out of customer’s vehicles and up and down ladders.
