The Central Process and Equipment Engineering (CPEE) Photolithography team at Micron Technology supports global manufacturing by improving photolithography processes, equipment performance, and cost efficiency. The team partners across engineering, operations, and suppliers to enable high-quality, high-volume semiconductor production aligned with Micron's mission to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all!

Position Overview

As a Photo EUV Track Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for photolithography track equipment and processes across Micron's global manufacturing network. This role is responsible for driving world-class equipment performance, process standardization, material optimization, and operational excellence!

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture, including safe handling of chemicals and materials.
• Serve as the global technical authority for Photo Track equipment, providing guidance and support across manufacturing sites.
• Lead and maintain global standards for track processes through governance forums, engineering reviews, and cross-site collaboration.
• Drive track equipment strategy and readiness activities for new fab startups, including tool installation, qualification, commissioning, and manufacturing ramp efforts.
• Improve equipment performance by reducing defects, increasing consistency, and supporting tool qualification and startup activities.
• Drive optimization of EUV materials, including photoresists and associated chemicals, to improve performance while reducing cost and waste.
• Partner with Procurement and suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve total cost of ownership.
• Define and implement Best Known Methods (BKMs), material usage benchmarks, and equipment performance standards across manufacturing sites.
• Drive standardization of track hardware configurations, process recipes, maintenance strategies, and performance metrics across the network.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to solve complex technical challenges and scale improvements globally.
• Lead data-driven problem-solving efforts using statistical analysis, DOE methodologies, and defect reduction techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience with significant focus on photolithography track equipment and processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in Photo Track equipment installation, qualification, optimization, solving, and support of high-volume manufacturing operations.
• Proven track record supporting and leading greenfield semiconductor fab startups, including tool installation, process qualification, production ramp activities, and operational readiness.
• Several years of experience operating in a high-volume wafer fabrication environment with ownership of sustained manufacturing performance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including data analysis, design of experiments (DOE), statistical methods, and defect reduction techniques.
• Excellent communication, partner management, and technical leadership skills with the ability to influence engineering teams, peers, and senior leadership.
• Candidates must possess deep hands-on expertise in Photo Track equipment, a proven record of successful greenfield fab startup leadership, and multiple years of experience supporting high-volume semiconductor manufacturing operations. *Advanced academic credentials alone will not substitute for the required industry and operational experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Direct experience with TEL, SCREEN, or equivalent advanced Photo Track platforms.
• Experience supporting EUV lithography production environments and advanced process nodes.
• Demonstrated success leading global engineering initiatives, standards development, and cross-site manufacturing improvements.
• Proven track record of improving equipment productivity, reducing material consumption, and delivering manufacturing cost efficiencies.
• Experience working extensively with equipment suppliers to improve tool capability, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and quality systems, including 8D or equivalent approaches.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
