Description

Stonewall Kitchen is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Operations Manager to lead and optimize night shift operations in our distribution facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that all night shift activities meet operational, safety, and quality standards. The Senior Operations Manager will drive productivity, oversee a team of supervisors and associates, and implement strategic improvements to support our goals. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a commitment to operational excellence and employee development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:  Lead, motivate, and manage the night shift team, including supervisors, coordinators, and associates. Provide direction, establish performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations to build a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
  • Operational Oversight:  Oversee all aspects of night shift operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure that daily activities run efficiently, meet company standards, and adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance and Productivity:  Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, order fulfillment, and on-time shipment. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and work with the team to implement effective solutions.
  • Inventory and Quality Control:  Collaborate with inventory team to ensure accurate stock levels and product quality. Address any discrepancies or issues in real time to maintain operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Safety and Compliance:  Champion a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company-specific safety standards. Provide training and guidance to foster a safety-conscious culture among the night shift team.
  • Continuous Improvement:  Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction. Leverage lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the night shift.
  • Seasonal and Volume-Based Planning:  Plan and adjust staffing levels based on forecasted volumes, working closely with HR and staffing agencies as needed. Ensure that the night shift is well-prepared for peak seasons and demand fluctuations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Work closely with day shift management, warehouse operations, inventory control, and transportation teams to ensure a smooth transition between shifts and seamless operations throughout the facility.
  • Reporting and Analysis:  Prepare and deliver detailed reports on night shift performance, operational metrics, and team productivity. Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on ways to optimize operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in leading distribution teams preferably on night shift. 
  • Proven experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices in warehouse safety.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement knowledge.
