Description -

The Senior Technical Manager - Privacy Platforms and Engineering is responsible for providing continuous technical and functional leadership across multiple technology teams, guiding them towards established vision and strategy. This role focuses on technical platforms for Enterprise Data discovery, Data classification, & consent management, SDLC, AI/ML development & maturity, data architecture, and cloud computing capabilities. The technical platform leader will make significant improvements in platforms and solutions that enable privacy & compliance including reporting, process enhancements and new opportunities/innovations. The role manages resource allocation, schedules, and costs for ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with program and organizational roadmaps. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to communicate program status, escalate issues, and influence strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Guides the team towards established vision and strategy for engineering platforms/solutions across multiple areas and divisional boundaries.
  • Demonstrates expertise in professional software engineering best practices for the entire SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, and testing.
  • Leads a team of data engineers, ML engineers, QA & product analysts responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operations of features.
  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors, designing engineering solutions and managing projects for products, systems, software, and solutions.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for ongoing projects and programs.
  • Ensures resources are appropriately allocated and goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Engages with program managers, privacy, and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams to drive improvement in engineering products and solutions against critical KPIs, identifying opportunities for further process improvement and cost reductions, and recommending changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.
  • Manages relationships with external vendors, outsourced partners, and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
  • Ensures team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with partnering organizations; supports the delivery of SLAs & reports.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes the knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals.
  • Performs talent and people-care management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Ensures proper knowledge, performance standards, and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years in software development, technical leadership, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.

The base pay range for this role is $118,050 to $181,800 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
