We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support one of our premier programs in the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) business unit. Your expertise in large-scale Agile software development, system capability and feature development, systems engineering analysis, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and the development of acceptance criteria for system validation and verification—particularly with a focus on system-level interfaces—will be highly valuable in this role.
What You Will Do
Conduct technical analyses to define system functionality through detailed use cases, customer capabilities and breakdown into features
Working through software system integration and initialization challenges
Providing technical information for development teams through CONOPS and systems design artifacts, and features
Must possess and demonstrate good communication strategies for describing complex technical topics to development teams
Participate in and contribute to technical reviews and technical interchange meetings throughout the program lifecycle
Provide mission readiness assessments based on technical integration progress, risks, and interdependence
Communicate emerging risks and concerns to leadership and stakeholders, offering clear pathways for awareness and recommended resolution
Obtain a Polygraph after starting
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
Experience in the development of large software data processing system architectures, with a focus on system-level interfaces as a systems engineer
Experience with systems engineering lifecycles, roles and functions, with specific experience in operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and/or verification and validation
Experience with Agile and/or DevOps software development methodologies
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Communication skills experience, particularly in translating complex technical issues into mission readiness impacts
Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Experience leading cross-functional agile development teams
Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements repositories
Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in Agile development
Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills
