Job Title: Senior Supplier Quality Engineer 

Department: Quality Assurance Engineering

Job Overview: Supplier Quality Engineer 2 (SQE) specializing in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of supplied PCBs, driving supplier quality improvement, and supporting supplier development activities. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Suppliers, to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement. Reports to Sr. Manager, QE and QA Located in Newark, CA

 Primary Job Responsibilities:


1. Supplier Quality Management:

  • Evaluate and qualify new PCB suppliers and other material suppliers, including audits and performance assessments.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality plans in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers and monitor adherence to quality standards.

2. Supplier Quality Control

  • Review and approve supplier-provided documentation, FMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams, etc.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain compliance with quality management systems (example: ISO-9001, AS9100, IATF standard, etc.)
  • Ensure supplied PCBs meet design specifications, IPC standards (e.g., IPC-6012), and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with suppler on root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) processes to resolve supplier non-conformances.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to manage supplier relationships and sourcing strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers to ensure alignment with quality expectations.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field

  1. 5+ years of experience in quality engineering with a focus on PCB fabrication and assembly.

  1. Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes, materials, and testing methodologies.

  1. Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-7351.

  1. Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar)

  1. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Other requirements: Travel may be required when conducting supplier audit.
