SUMMARY

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Cultivate, coach, and mentor a team of software developers focused on best-in-class user experience
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to manage both feature and technology roadmaps
• Work closely with product management to help scope features, identify potential trade-offs, and ensure we’re building the right thing for both our customers and internal stakeholders
• Constantly raise the bar on quality and best practices, relentlessly pursue better ways, and educate and empower others to make forward-thinking technical decisions that scale
• Design and build high-performance scalable systems and experiences on the web
• Drive long term technical vision and goals while fostering and maintaining an environment that allows developers and teams to quickly iterate and ship product

WHAT TO BRING

• 5+ years of experience developing full stack web applications
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team of software developers
• Proven track record of shipping several large-scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Strong coding abilities and architectural knowledge as it pertains to large, highly performant web applications
• Extensive experience in both frontend and backend system design and architecture
• Extensive experience in mobile web development, responsive web design, and progressive web apps
• Extensive experience with cloud computing, virtualization, containers, and infrastructure orchestration and developer experience
• Deep technical understanding of the web and its inner workings, from client-side frontend development to networking
• Champion of automation, testing, and continuous integration and deployment as part of the software development lifecycle
• Passion for performance: data-driven optimization and decision making through monitoring and measurement
• Experience with Scrum and Agile processes and practices

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Entertainment industry experience: tv, film, and/or video games
• Experience with video streaming technology and platforms
• Static site generation and API driven headless CMS solutions
• Familiarity with the architecture of single page application development using tools like React, Vue, Mithril, etc
• Experience with performance monitoring tools and dashboards using tools like New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, etc
