Senior Technician, Quality Assurance

Schaumburg, IL
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate:
$26.00 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Technician in Quality Assurance with a strong background in lighting and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities align with company standards and quality objectives. This position involves problem-solving, customer service interactions, and inbound inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inbound inspections for received products.
- Perform root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
- Handle RMA inspections and manage customer returns.
- Coordinate with Customer Service to send replacement products.
- Interpret and utilize quality tools such as Pareto charts, SPC charts, and flowcharts.
- Conduct product and process audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of quality issues.
- Ensure work environment is organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Recommend solutions for non-conforming products to the material review board.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance preferred.
- Strong understanding of RMA processes and inbound inspections.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with Oracle is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of 8D problem-solving methods is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and use statistical techniques for quality control.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Work involves 20% clerical tasks and 80% material handling, including processing RMAs and assisting production employees.
- Noise levels may be moderate to high; hearing protection may be required.
- Eye and foot protection may be necessary.
- Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 45 pounds.
