Senior Technician, Quality Assurance

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Technician in Quality Assurance with a strong background in lighting and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities align with company standards and quality objectives. This position involves problem-solving, customer service interactions, and inbound inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inbound inspections for received products.
• Perform root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
• Handle RMA inspections and manage customer returns.
• Coordinate with Customer Service to send replacement products.
• Interpret and utilize quality tools such as Pareto charts, SPC charts, and flowcharts.
• Conduct product and process audits.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of quality issues.
• Ensure work environment is organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
• Recommend solutions for non-conforming products to the material review board.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance preferred.
• Strong understanding of RMA processes and inbound inspections.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Oracle is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of 8D problem-solving methods is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use statistical techniques for quality control.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands:

• Work involves 20% clerical tasks and 80% material handling, including processing RMAs and assisting production employees.
• Noise levels may be moderate to high; hearing protection may be required.
• Eye and foot protection may be necessary.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 45 pounds.
