The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician with Ultra Maritime will be inspecting mechanical and electrical components and subassemblies through Receiving Inspection (RI). The Technician/Inspector will also support inspection and test of parts and products at various stages of the production process, including WIP inspection and final inspection.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Interprets engineering drawings/diagrams, Product Inspection Plans (PIPs), and Work Instructions (AOPs).
    • Conduct thorough inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in understanding and utilizing key tools used in the inspection of mechanical and electrical components and subassemblies, including their operation, maintenance, and interpretation of results.
    • Review quality-related documentation, such as inspection reports, test records, and certificates of conformance.
    • Perform various quality tests on products, components, and materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
    • Accurately document inspection results, including any defects or deviations from quality standards, in reports or databases.
    • Complete transactional entries, with associated data into computer ERP system to document inspection results.
    • Performs and supports production process quality audits and process audits.

    Required Skills:

    • 3+ years of electromechanical production or Quality Assurance experience in an ISO 9000 or AS9100 environment.
    • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
    • Desired Skills:

      • Thorough understanding of IPC 610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies and J-STD-001.
      • Knowledge of mechanical measurement techniques and tools.
      • Able to determine AQL sampling plan.
      • Comfortable using verniers, calipers, plug gages, optical comparator, height gage, Digital Multimeter.
      • Process audits experience is a plus.
      • ASQ certifications experience a plus.
