Senior Quality Engineers – Hand Tools

Job Duties
- Develop and revise procedures, system instructions, standards, and work instructions for new and existing products in a startup factory. (5%)
- Perform process analysis on machines, equipment, and systems to facilitate process improvement and cost reduction. Track process performance and provide feedback to engineering, manufacturing, and management. (5%)
- Perform performance testing on production products to ensure specifications are met. (5%)
- Work with manufacturing and suppliers in process improvement to reduce process variation and increase process control. (5%)
- Determine acceptance quality levels by means of random sampling techniques, where feasible. (5%)
- Track project schedules to ensure adherence to timelines. (5%)
- Work on projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a self-directed manner. (5%)
- Lead and own continuous improvement activities through statistical analysis and data analysis, such as process capability study, Gauge R&R, process flowcharting, and design of experiments. (20%)
- Leading and creating corrective action plans to ensure timely root cause/8D analysis and effective corrective/preventive action. (15%)
- Provide direction, guidance, and industry expertise to team members. Review the work of engineers and other project team members. (10%)
- Provide real-time, expert feedback to the manufacturing team regarding quality outputs and process recommendations. (10%)
- Indirectly lead and guide junior team members on projects and issues. May manage team members. (10%)
Master’s or equivalent degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or related engineering field, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Engineer or related; OR Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or related engineering field, and 5 years of relevant experience as an Engineer or related.
Experience must include:
- Tool industries and in-house manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, injection molded components, or forging).
- Manufacturing quality experience in a regulated product field.
- Critical to Quality/Quality Function Deployment.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Control Plans, Risk Analysis through Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Metrology methods.
- Statistical tools (MiniTab, Reliasoft, JMP, SPC, or OEE).
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically & internationally.
