Job Overview:

Company Overview:

MP Materials (NYSE: MP) is rebuilding American industrial capability for a new era of autonomy, robotics, and electrification.

We are the only U.S. company with a fully integrated rare earth supply chain—from mining and refining to advanced metal and magnet manufacturing. Our products include both the critical materials used to make permanent magnets and the finished magnets themselves—enabling next-generation technologies in robotics, automation, aerospace, transportation, defense, and energy systems. These materials are the foundation of physical AI—the convergence of computation, movement, and control.

We hire ambitious, mission-driven people who want to tackle complex challenges and shape the future of strategic industries. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, resiliency, and integrity, with a deep commitment to operational excellence and national purpose. MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer—and our people are driving that transformation.

Position Overview:

The Senior Quality Systems Engineer will be a member of our new Magnetics Business headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. This is an opportunity to be a part of building our team, our factory, our systems, and our culture as the Magnetics team helps to define the future of American manufacturing. The successful candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in the development, implementation, and sustaining of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with internal, customer, and certification body requirements. This is a rare opportunity to have a central role in designing and implementing an entire QMS for a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility that is the shaping future of American manufacturing.

MP Materials is committed to re-establishing a domestic American supply chain for rare earth magnets, and the new Magnetics facility will perform a mix of chemical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and machining processes. The Senior Quality Systems Engineer will need to engage with a broad range of internal technical specialists and gain a working understanding of the processes involved to effectively lead the development, implementation, and sustaining of the new QMS. • Work closely with customer reps to ensure that MP Magnetics’ QMS are compliant with all customer requirements and integrated as needed with customer systems.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that their QMS are compliant with MP Magnetics’ requirements and integrated as needed with MP Magnetics’ QMS.
  • Lead non-compliance corrective action activities from internal and external (customer, supplier, and certification) audits.
  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified as needed to meet the needs of both customers and external certification bodies, while ensuring the simplicity and ease of execution that facilitates their consistent use.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of Control Plans, FMEA and inspection documents for production analysis.
  • Participate in and facilitate FMEA and troubleshooting activities, and update quality documentation accordingly. Communicate resulting changes to relevant stakeholders and track outcomes to ensure lessons learned from quality events are carried forward.
  • Develop and implement quality systems learning and training tools.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years quality systems experience under relevant quality regimes.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certified.
