What You’ll Do
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for leading advanced quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest level of product quality across all manufacturing processes. This role involves managing complex quality projects, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality challenges and implement corrective actions. This position reports into the Quality Manager.
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced quality control processes to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address product non-conformances and process defects.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to establish quality standards for new products, materials, and processes.
- Lead and mentor junior quality engineers, providing technical guidance and support in resolving complex quality issues.
- Manage quality audits, both internal and external, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Develop, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality performance, using data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Act as a key liaison with customers on quality issues, ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Support product design and process development teams by providing input on quality considerations during the design and development stages.
- Drive the resolution of supplier-related quality issues, working closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure compliance with material and product specifications.
- Maintain and update quality documentation, including work instructions, control plans, inspection procedures, and test reports.
- Lead quality-related projects and initiatives that support the strategic goals of Johnson Screens.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
- Previous experience in metal working required
- Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), quality control processes, and industry standards such as ISO 9001.
- Strong expertise in root cause analysis, corrective action processes (CAPA), and advanced problem-solving methods (FMEA, 8D, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience in quality auditing and compliance with regulatory and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive data-driven quality improvements.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of quality excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and interacting with customers.
- Proficiency in quality management software, statistical analysis tools, and related technology.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Proficiency within developing quality inspection plans at all levels of manufacture

Compensation
Base salary of $92,000 to $98,000 plus a 3% bonus eligibility.
