DirectPath Recruiting Services is partnering with an innovative global manufacturing company to identify an experienced Senior Quality Engineer for its growing operation in Madison, Alabama.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new manufacturing campus supporting both high-volume production and engineered-to-order manufacturing. The Senior Quality Engineer will play a key role in building and maintaining world-class quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting new product launches, and ensuring exceptional product quality across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve the site's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support manufacturing startup activities, process validation, production readiness, and new product introductions (NPI).
- Lead internal quality audits and prepare the facility for external ISO certification audits.
- Host customer audits, inspections, and manufacturing visits while coordinating corrective actions.
- Partner with suppliers to improve incoming quality, supplier performance, and supplier development initiatives.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier corrective actions.
- Develop and implement PFMEAs, Control Plans, CAPA programs, inspection methods, and quality metrics.
- Utilize root cause analysis tools including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and drive process improvements to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.
- Mentor production personnel on quality standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture focused on quality, safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with supplier quality, customer audits, internal audits, and quality system development.
- Hands-on experience with:
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- CAPA
- Root Cause Analysis
- Process Validation
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Experience supporting manufacturing startups, production launches, or facility expansions is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certifications are highly desirable.
