Essential Functions:

The Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) works closely with the organization to manage the Hard Capsule Quality Management System (QMS), deliver product quality and optimal services and with customers to deliver products according to their expectations.

The Senior Quality Engineer plays a vital role in the Business Teams Selling approach, supporting internal and external perspectives of key and core/target accounts.

The SQE supports customer account management by:

  • Providing proactive service, tactical and tangible communication
  • Crafting new value for customers
  • Improving communication with customers
  • Encouraging relationships and partnerships with customers
  • Fueling business growth and sustaining stability

The SQE supports the Quality Management System by:

  • Encouraging a spirit of continuous improvement
  • Crafting quality solutions through root cause analysis
  • Driving improvement of the QMS through analysis and communication of Voice of the Customer
  • Providing proactive analysis of IPC for prevention of defects
  • Initiating regular discussions & correspondence with customers and departments for closure to customer complaints and corrective action requests
  • Managing customer experience improvement in a timely manner through root cause analysis of customer feedback and quality system failures
  • Driving implementation and follow-up of corrective actions for investigation findings
  • Advancing important quality concerns raised by customers to management
  • Making decisions and recommendations on resolving product/process issues identified during capsule production for both DS and Pharmaceutical business segments
  • Capturing, recording, analyzing, and reporting Voice of the Customer data for tracking and trending
  • Developing improvement plans based on customer feedback
  • Establishing specifications and controls to optimize customer happiness
  • Coordinating and leading customer GMP and quality system audits
  • Ensuring appropriate actions are taken as necessary to address customer feedback during audits
  • Acting as primary Quality Assurance assessor in change control systems
  • Displaying and communicating Voice of the customer information in LBMS team meetings
  • Confirming implementation and efficiency of corrective actions taken for quality improvement
  • Managing internal quality communications (i.e. Quality Alerts)
  • Leading organizational capability engagement through weekly reports that include product and process capability
  • Managing monthly reports to organization that include customer complaint rates and updates to action plans for improvement
  • Performing risk-based audits of quality systems based on the Voice of the Customer data
  • Guiding and supporting Commercial Teams to improve customer well-being through direct customer interaction, customer training and instruction, and support of commercial business objectives.
  • Handling total quality management process for assigned operations, including input on product development and release
  • Leading opportunities to reduce operational costs by analyzing trends in critical metrics, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Running implementation of goals, objectives and strategies for capsule quality
  • Working 40 hours a week, which may include weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Working additional hours/days as business needs instruct
  • Visiting the plant site as a necessary duty
  • Traveling as needed (less than 50% annual travel)
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • BS / BA Science, Business or Engineering
