Norfolk Southern Corporation is currently seeking a dedicated Senior QA Program Manager to lead program initiatives for our Quality Center of Excellence, QCOE. In this role, you will coordinate with the manager of QCOE and application and infrastructure owning teams to envision, roadmap, scope, plan, and execute the Quality Program at NS. The successful candidate will provide direction, planning, oversight, and guidance to QA Architects for program consistency. The QCOE team is comprised of several QA architects that support the quality tools (Core Systems below), provide administration/configuration/support of the tools, develop best practices, and provide coaching/mentorship, and support to the QA engineers embedded in the Agile teams.
Core Systems: qTest, qTest Desktop Explorer, Tosca, Vision AI, TDS, DEX, NeoLoad, & SonarQube, Sauce Labs
Integrated Systems: Jira, LiveCompare, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Collaborate with management and teams to refine quality program roadmap.
• Develop, maintain and execute quality program roadmap.
• Develop plans in Jira for quality program execution including epics, stories, tasks to define work deliverables.
• Lead team of QCOE QA Architects to deliver plans for test plan deliveries.
• Lead discussions, facilitate meetings, and actively communicate coordination of testing with teams.
• Partner with scrum masters, project managers, and business partners for test management across applications & infrastructure.
• Develop and report metrics for ongoing quality programs.
• Present to management, stakeholders and development of technical staff on quality program directives, deliverables and future state.
• Document best practices, guidelines, and processes for quality program.
• Ensure proper training and guidance is provided for all QCOE program deliverables.
• Work with and across teams such as PMO, DevSecOps, Infrastructure to design and implement new quality processes for the organization.
• Provide oversight, guidance, mentorship and coaching to QCOE QA Architects for optimal program delivery.
• Ensure standards, guidelines and QA governance across application and infrastructure.
• Facilitate tool training, education, and onboarding of teams into the quality program.
• Implement new testing capabilities, process, tools and QA technologies.
• Provide oversight for two-deep support for the configuration, production support, and maintenance of core systems.
• Maintain on-call rotation for support of core systems.
• Ensure proper change management procedures are followed for core systems and team activities.
• Manage third party vendors for core and integrated systems support and triage of issues.
• Oversee currency and maintenance of Core Systems by QA architects.
• Provide oversight and coordination with vendors for Core Systems and Integrated Systems for support activities and triage of issues.
• Act as escalation path between QCOE team and project teams for project needs or vendor escalations.
• Represent the Quality COE team for the projects assigned by team management.
• Oversee / coordinate product training and guidance for Core Systems and Integrated systems by QA architects.
• Coordinate research, architecting, designing, implementing new testing technologies and integrations.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, KPI’s, metrics, reports and defect management.
• Drive adoption and maturity across teams as they onboard onto the quality program.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, business, management, information systems, engineering or related field is required.
Skills Required
• 5+ years experience as technical project and/or program manager.
• QA Jira planning and roadmapping experience at project and/or program level.
• 5+ years in QA test automation as QA Analyst, QA Engineer, SDET or QA Architect.
• 5+ years experience testing DevOps, DevSecOps development.
• 3+ years experience leading test automation integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience translating requirements into user stories into in-dept -test cases.
• Proficient in developing individual as well as end to end test scenarios.
• 5+ years’ experience using Agile, SAFe and Lean practices.
Skills Desired
• 3 years of experience with Tricentis suite of testing tools (qTest, Tosca, DEX, NeoLoad, LiveCompare, Tosca DI)
• Developing and running program for performance load testing with NeoLoad or similar.
• Experience with Test Data Management (TDM) technologies, techniques, definition of processes, and implementation.
• SAST scanning tools with SonarQube, Veracode or similar.
• Mobile, tablet and/or handheld automation testing with Tosca Mobile or similar.
• Knowledge of SAP
• Experience with PPM tools such as OnePlan, Jira, or Jira Align.
• CSTE, CSQA, CSQE, SAFe or similar certifications.
