Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead and oversee large, complex, high-risk projects or portfolios. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with executive sponsors and cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale, complex projects or multiple project portfolios with significant risk and visibility.
- Collaborate with Executive Sponsors and Program Managers to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 15–26 project staff members.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.
- Oversee project planning, execution, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Identify risks, resolve critical issues, and ensure timely project delivery.
- Track project progress, budgets, resource utilization, and overall portfolio performance.
- Implement and monitor budget controls; reconcile budget variances across projects.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Drive creation and delivery of project reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Promote and enforce project management best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with HR and IT Resource Managers for staffing and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with information security policies and healthcare regulations.
- Support integration of secure IT systems handling sensitive organizational data.
- Maintain adherence to federal, state, and healthcare compliance standards.
Required Skills & Experience
15+ years of experience managing medium to large, complex projects with increasing responsibility.
Proven experience leading high-risk, high-visibility projects with executive stakeholders.
Strong expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare IT, or related field
- Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent)
