Pratt & Whitney's Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization is seeking a goal-oriented and detail-focused Senior Project Manager to manage the Project Practitioners in our Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT). As the Project Manager, you will oversee the team members in the Project discipline and be responsible for task assignments, employee development and performance, task planning and resource coordination, as well as collaborate with related disciplines (procurement, operations and across the various CIPTs and programs that ESTO supports) to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage a team of up to 5 Project engineers; Coach, train, and develop the technical proficiency of Project Engineers.
  • Work closely with Airfoil Team to build an integrated airfoil production support team.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Operations team to identify opportunities for improvement and identify priorities to ensure timely closure of critical tasks.
  • Provide Project support for production and engineering investigations.
  • Ensure appropriate Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed, and approved, consistent with discipline strength and development.
  • Collaborate with related disciplines to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers.
  • Travel up to 10%. (Domestic and International).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 10 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree and 7 years of engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Turbomachinery experience in Airfoil design or manufacturing.
  • Skilled in SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, and classical methods of analysis.
  • Experience as a supervisor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness with clear communication.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.

Department/Segment Overview: The Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations. Technical disciplines in ESTO include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, and Manufacturing Engineering.

The Turbine Airfoil Casting Team (TACT) primary focus is supporting the airfoil casting tooling qualification process as defined per PW-QA 6078, which is necessary to ensure the quality of P&W's engines. In addition, the TACT supports process improvement efforts at casting suppliers and evaluates nonconformance in support of product delivery.

What is my role type: In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
