Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven, highly experienced Senior Project Manager with Master Black Belt-level expertise in Six Sigma to lead high-impact initiatives across the Road Maintenance Division of our business. This individual will be instrumental in driving digital transformation efforts in the short term, with a long-term focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is an experienced change agent with a technical background, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects in industrial manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage enterprise-level projects, particularly focused on digital transformation initiatives such as ERP optimization, smart factory implementations, and process automation.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and execute key improvement projects that align with strategic business goals.
- Utilize Six Sigma, Lean, and DMAIC methodologies to drive sustainable improvements in overall business performance.
- Act as a coach and mentor to Black Belts and Green Belts within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and capability development.
- Employ data analytics, process modeling, and statistical analysis to identify root causes and validate improvement hypotheses.
- Translate strategic vision into actionable project plans with clearly defined milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Embed effective change management practices in all project initiatives to maximize adoption and achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT and Operations to effectively bridge the gap between technology and shop floor activities, ensuring teams leverage new systems and tools to their fullest potential.
- Provide regular updates to executive stakeholders on project performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Master Black Belt or equivalent experience in leading Six Sigma/DMAIC projects across various business functions.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably within heavy industrial, discrete manufacturing, or component production environments.
- Strong understanding of relevant digital technologies in manufacturing, including ERP, MES, automation, and analytics, with experience in managing or supporting digital initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’srtf degree preferred.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, effectively navigating complexity and ambiguity.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- PMP certification or similar project management credential is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP) and their significance in process transformation.
- Experience working in mid-sized, privately-owned manufacturing organizations.
- A passion for mentoring and developing others in the continuous improvement domain.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
