Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager (SPM) is responsible to lead customer-specific battery pack development programs from requirements definition through launch, including customer interface responsibilities for engineering statement of work definition, requirements capture and sign-off, change control management, developing and maintaining timing plans, driving open issues to closure, change control management, metrics management, launch support, and customer program meeting support. The SPM is also responsible for internal project management to ensure all design, development, supplier, build, and test milestones are met on time with high quality by performing the following duties.
- Lead multi-functional core teams from concept through commercialization for the execution of New Product Design (NPD) engineering projects.
- Develop, communicate, and lead the execution of project management plans, scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Schedule and conduct team meetings and design reviews; manage work plans and communicate tasks and expectations to project team members; capture and drive closure of actions and open issues.
- Develop, reconcile, and maintain project budgets and monthly spending forecasts, identify discrepancies, and lead replanning activity as needed.
- Drive towards rapid identification and resolution of engineering-related performance, project and product cost, project risk, timing, manufacturing, and supply chain-related issues.
- Document and track compliance to requirements along with developing and leading technology solutions to address identified gaps.
- Identify and help to resolve resource allocation issues and priorities to ensure the program is staffed appropriately, completed on time, and within budget constraints.
- Support development and management of engineering project budget and goals; ensure that product cost targets are met.
- Plans and executes the launch process, managing deliverables, risks, and decisions using a Phase Delivery process.
- Participate and contribute to program management process and quality management system.
- Utilize, develop, and improve NPD project methods, process, and toolkits, and acts as an ambassador of the project management process and governance within the organization.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.

- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing technical product development projects.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Hardware, Software, and Firmware program elements preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or demonstrated competency in managing complex projects.
- Experience and knowledge in energy storage project/product development is highly desired.
- Ability for domestic and international travel as required up to 20% annually.

- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions, and in industrial/lab environments.

- May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about in industrial environments, and on uneven terrain.
- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
- Video conference calls/meetings with domestic and international employees, vendors, and manufacturing partners during or outside of normal business hours.
- May be required to travel to and navigate a variety of domestic and international sites to perform assignments.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Ability to successfully complete position specific pre-placement requirements.
