Process Technician General Summary
Works in conjunction with Assembly Process Engineers to develop and maintain manufacturing techniques and processes. Recognizes and utilizes prescribed techniques to solve problems. Can recommend and execute enhancements to product and process flows.
Process Technician Responsibilities
- Supports Process Engineers in establishing high-yielding, cost-effective processes based on product needs and customer requirements.
- Complies with Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Set-ups and operates equipment and develop process programs.
- With direction from Process Engineers, can execute the design of experiments (DOE), gathering data for analysis.
- Uses principles of Cost of Goods Sold and executes process improvements to increase the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing.
- Serves as a member of cross-functional project teams.
- Ensures Intellectual Property issues are being considered relative to processes being developed.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Process Technician Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Process Technician Qualifications
- AS degree in Engineering or Technical Field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, EIA/JEDEC, and standards.
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude; can identify and resolve complex system problems.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple organizational levels.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize projects assigned.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and diverse business environment.
- Prioritizes and meets deadlines promptly.
- Understands work environment issues (i.e., OSHA regulations, etc.).
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
