Job Overview:

Position Summary

The Senior Process Technician is responsible for the development of new production processes and the evaluation of existing processes to improve stamping and bending efficiencies. This role conducts feasibility studies, assesses product and tooling designs, and integrates efficiency improvements to support increased profitability. The position also supports production operations by troubleshooting equipment performance issues, guiding operators and supervisors on systematic problem resolution, and implementing mechatronic solutions involving hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

The Senior Process Technician leads cross-functional teams across multiple manufacturing locations to ensure effective knowledge transfer and the development of standardized best practices.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and execute technology transfer between domestic and international manufacturing locations
  • Maintain safe and reliable manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, and changeover performance
  • Collaborate with equipment designers and manufacturing stakeholders to develop cost-effective and functional production processes
  • Introduce new manufacturing processes and technologies across multiple facilities
  • Provide technical support for programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Support increased automation and the integration of vision systems within production processes
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and operating manuals
  • Evaluate and continuously improve manufacturing systems and workflows
  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from concept through startup and validation
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining quality standards
  • Collect, analyze, and present production and process data in professional reports
  • Coordinate activities with colleagues across multiple domestic and international locations
  • Provide input during incident investigations and advise on corrective actions
  • Ensure projects are completed effectively, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Research and present emerging manufacturing technologies for potential implementation
  • Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work in compliance with internal quality, environmental, and customer requirements

Function Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive-related industries
  • Completion of an apprenticeship, formal technical training, or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional initiatives

You should be proficient in:

  • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience
  • Blueprint Reading
