The Systems Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).
The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. The LWMDS department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon’s Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) business area from our Huntsville, AL location. LWMDS Department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels. Key technical domains include Architecture, Requirements, Interface Definition, Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.
This is an Onsite role located in Huntsville, AL.
What You Will Do
You will perform Systems Engineering activities on one of our many programs. Programs include: Patriot, Air and Missile Defense Capability (AMDC), Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Radar Development Contract (RDC), Standard Missile, and other sensors or effector programs.
You will be responsible for developing requirements, updating and maintaining Interface Description Documents
You will occasionally collaborate with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from outside of Raytheon.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with systems engineering
Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other related systems engineering experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced Degree in STEM such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
Detailed Knowledge of Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems including radar, interceptor, Command and Control systems
Detailed knowledge of Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS)
Experience using DOORs
Strong collaboration skills
Control Account Management Experience
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Modeling & Simulation development experience
Data analysis
