An RTX Collins program supporting the US Navy is seeking a Senior Principal System Test Engineer. The program objective is to integrate and deploy a battle management capability for the Navy’s long range fires mission, centered on integrating moderate-to-high TRL software applications into on-prem hardware stacks and cloud environments. The systems will ultimately deploy to Navy sites for customer-led test and evaluation. The program uses modern engineering methods including MBSE, DevSecOps and Agile Scrum at Scale.
As a member of the Mission Integration & Test scrum team, the Senior System Test Engineer focuses on developing approaches for verifying system requirements, identifying required simulation capabilities to support verification, developing system-level test documentation (plans, procedures, etc.), execution of test procedures, documentation of results and communicating with the BECM customer throughout the process.
This position is located onsite in Dulles, VA and requires an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility. Active and current TSSCI is highly desired.
What You Will Do:
Define test approaches, plans and procedures to verify system requirements, including identifying needs for associated test harnesses and test data. System tests include functional tests, interface tests, and performance tests (e.g., scalability and load tests) through the standard verification methods.
Support implementing and configuring the test harness and creating test data to conduct system-level acceptance tests.
Use an integrated Digital Engineering Environment that includes Cameo (MBSE and requirements), ZephyrScale (test management), and Jira (Agile).
Engage with the Navy customer and stakeholders at Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), sprint demos, and formal reviews such as Design Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.
Contribute to a team of software and system integration & test engineers in accomplishing engineering tasks via an Agile iterative approach.
Local travel for customer meetings (approximately 10%)
Additional periodic CONUS travel to support integration and test will be required
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
4+ years of experience performing system test engineering for software-centric systems, including developing test approaches, test procedures and associated data sets, and conducting tests.
Experience in performing verification traceability from system requirements to subsystem requirements.
Experience in developing test plans, procedures and reports for DoD customers.
Experience working in Agile Scrum, using stories to plan, assign, and track work.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS security clearance with SCI eligibility is required prior to start date. Existing TS/SCI highly desired
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with ZephyrScale or similar test management tool for Jira.
Experience with CameoEA System Requirements Modeler.
Experience integrating CameoEA and Jira for requirement to test traceability
Program experience in Command & Control (C2) and intelligence collection systems
Domain knowledge of US Navy Combat Systems
Ability to create software scripts and test data to execute tests

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
