JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Polymer Chemist Engineer will lead the development of new elastomeric and adhesives materials, ensuring alignment with industry and customer needs. The Incumbent will provide expertise to Research & Development and Manufacturing efforts by collaborating cross functionally on all new product development programs.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Lead the formulation and commercial development of new polymer and elastomeric materials based on industry trends and customer requirements.
  •  Prepare and deliver technology presentations at industry conferences and customers meetings.
  •  Provide support for new materials, formulations, and processes throughout the development cycle.
  •  Conduct root cause / failure analysis for existing products and new products throughout the development cycle.
  •  Provide chemistry expertise and insights for R&D activities, including fielding inquiries from Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders.
  •  Determine and report project timelines, action item prioritization, and resource allocation needs to management and customers.
  •  Develop & maintain knowledge of advanced principles and theories contributing to scientific literature, industry associations, publications, etc.
  •  Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  •  M.S. in polymer chemistry or related field with minimum ten years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •  Proven track record of developing commercial products and technologies.
  •  Demonstrable understanding of elastomer or adhesives and relevant manufacturing processes.
  •  Proficient statistical analysis and lab aptitude.
  •  Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to be hands on solution provider.
  •  Previous exposure to roll to roll coating or extrusion manufacturing methods, highly preferred.
  •  Comfortability with 10% travel requirements.
  •  Demonstrable background in QMS, SPC and other quality/manufacturing controls a plus.
