 JOB SUMMARY

 Senior Plastics Process Development Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the design, development, and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes. This individual will work to optimize existing processes and develop new processes to improve safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. The Process Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting any process-related issues and working with other departments to analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop plans for improved efficiency. The incumbent will collaborate with teams to implement solutions, monitor operations, and analyze data to ensure processes are effective and up to standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

· Lead process development in cast extrusion, coating line, and injection molding, ensuring equipment modifications meeting the demands of both current and future products.

· Spearhead process engineering initiatives, working closely with quality control, maintenance, engineering, and logistics teams to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.

· Create cost models for various manufacturing processes, enabling informed business decisions and project prioritization.

· Review and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with a strong focus on safety protocols and quality standards.

· Perform root cause and failure analysis throughout the product development lifecycle for both new and existing processes.

· Support initiatives to improve manufacturing assets, including defining design specifications and leading trials and production efforts.

· Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment


Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.

· 5+ years of manufacturing experience in the polymer industry, specifically with roll-to-roll coating or cast extrusion methods.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external customers.

· Innovative thinker with strong analytical capabilities.

· Demonstrable intellectual rigor and a drive to improve processes and identify opportunities for optimization.

· Willingness to travel up to 10%.

· Maintain 1) reliable and safe transportation to other Delphon facilities or for business travel, 2) valid State-issued driver’s license, 3) proper vehicle registration, and 4) State-required minimum automobile insurance coverage requirement.
