Job Overview:
- Lead the day-to-day performance of distribution, warehouse, and manufacturing operations through subordinate managers and supervisors.
- Develop and implement Utah branch operating plans in alignment with company and divisional strategy; translate priorities into goals, budgets, metrics, and accountability rhythms.
- Own branch-level operational and financial results, including productivity, labor, inventory, order fulfillment, service levels, cost control, profitability, and capital needs.
- Oversee capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory control, staffing, materials, equipment, and workflow to meet customer and business commitments.
- Ensure production and distribution performance meets quality, cost, delivery, and service targets; establish appropriate performance metrics and review operating results regularly.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements; promote a safe, inclusive, clean, and organized workplace.
- Implement and maintain effective quality control systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop managers, supervisors, and frontline talent through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and regular performance reviews.
- Partner with supply chain, sales, finance, human resources, and other functions to align branch execution with enterprise needs and seamlessly integrate new products and processes.
- Monitor financial performance, manage operating expenses and capital needs, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
- Use advanced analytical thought and judgment to identify trends, remove constraints, resolve root causes, minimize downtime, and improve throughput, quality, service, and cost.
- Communicate branch plans, performance, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to the COO, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Build productive relationships with vendors, service providers, regulators, and internal stakeholders; negotiate with and influence others in support of branch and company goals.
- Stay current on relevant industry trends, manufacturing technologies, and process improvement methods; encourage practical innovation that strengthens competitiveness.
