SUMMARY:

This position will report to the Director – Corporate Sales Strategy and will be responsible for the snack nuts portfolio, including the Planters and Corn Nuts brands. This position will have 1 direct report.

Responsibilities

This position will be accountable for delivering and maintaining the overall business plan required to achieve the sales goals for the assigned brands.

Champions the assigned categories and brands on a national market basis.
Leads the strategic planning process by collaborating with Marketing to develop brand executional strategies that deliver top and bottom line growth expectations by providing brand, category, customer, market, and industry knowledge.
Builds and allocates the sales targets and trade budgets for the brands under their responsibility on a macro level and down to each customer.
Manages the strategic planning process on the assigned brands as the connector to the Retail organization including field sales directors, customer business managers, sales team members, revenue growth management team members, brand analytics, and field sales strategy.
Partners with sales to ensure alignment of brand and customer strategy through active participation and support of customer negotiation.
Manages brand trade resources and investments to drive profitable growth.
Provides forecast on volume, net sales, trade and gross margin for respective brands to inform organizational outlook.
Creates field ready insights driven sales solutions (i.e. category vision) that can be utilized/leveraged by the field teams to drive brand and category growth.
Partners with a Category Sales Supply Chain Analyst to develop monthly to 18-month rolling volume forecasts & annual trade forecasts to organization that is utilized by demand planning to support the S&OE, S&OP and IBP planning process
Talent development of the Category Sales Supply Chain Analyst who reports into this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
4+ years of Sales/Marketing/Sales Strategy experience.
Strong analytical skills.

Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Strong persuasive skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.

Preferred

National Category Sales Manager or similar experience.
Sales experience across multiple sales channels.
5+ years of Sales/Marketing/Sales Strategy experience.

LOCATION: Corporate Office, Chicago, IL.

A comprehensive relocation package to the Chicago, IL area may be offered, if required.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Senior National Category Sales Manager role is between $117,175 – $164,050 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
