The Role
We are seeking a Senior Motorsports Engine Controls & Calibration Development Engineer to support propulsion development activities within GM's exciting sports car racing programs! In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing propulsion controls and calibration solutions to assist our race teams in their success on the track. You will work closely with Software, Hardware, and Track Support Engineers to analyze on-track and off-track data trends and convert these into performance, efficiency, drivability, and reliability improvements for our road racing teams. While this role is focused primarily on engine dyno development for Corvette Racing, you will also collaborate closely with your Cadillac Racing colleagues to share ideas and learnings. Opportunities also exist to support hardware, software, HIL, DIL, and analytical tool development if adequate skills and bandwidth exist.
Travel is minimal and mainly involves validating critical dyno-based development work during track testing. Limited off-shift support, whether on weekdays or weekends, may be required to meet program needs and accommodate the schedules of high-demand test facilities.
Joining the Sports Car Propulsion Team will provide you with the experience and exposure it takes to contribute to the success of our race programs by growing your engine development and calibration skills, promoting innovation, connecting lessons learned in racing and production vehicles, and ultimately helping to shape the future of GM’s Sports Car Racing programs.
