Job Overview:

If you are a Technician Professional looking to grow your career, Emerson has a great opportunity for you! Based at our Chanhassen, MN facility, the Metrology Technician will support the manufacturing, inspection, engineering, and testing functions by performing moderately complex manual and automated calibration of test and measurement equipment. In this role, you document the measurement traceability of our products, and provide prompt detection of inaccuracies and initiation of effective corrective action.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Work with engineering to identify calibration requirements
  • Determine appropriate laboratory standards needed to perform moderately complex calibrations
  • Perform moderately complex calibrations of test and measurement equipment according to established procedures, processes, and systems
  • Document calibration results into the metrology management system, including identifying calibration failures
  • Create, modify, and validate moderate complex calibration procedures by determining requirements from manufacturer’s manuals, laboratory methods, etc.
  • Remove/reinstall test equipment from production/engineering stations using safe practices
  • Communicate efficiently with internal and external functions, including Metrology personnel, Instrument Builders, Supervisors, Engineering, IT, Procurement, Shipping & Receiving, and Vendors
  • May provide guidance to equipment users and engineers in the proper operation of test and measurement equipment

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • 1,800 hours of technical education
  • Minimum of four (4) years of metrology, calibration-related, or equipment maintenance experience
  • Ability to apply safe lifting and ergonomic guidelines on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • US Military PMEL, metrology, or calibration training
  • Experience with automated metrology software
  • Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
