Job Overview:

The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will oversee the development and coordination of tooling for laser, vibration, and ultrasonic welding machinery. This role requires a combination of engineering expertise, project management skills, and innovative thinking. The successful candidate will ensure that tooling projects are completed on time, meet technical requirements, and adhere to high-quality standards.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Collaborate with the international design team to develop, optimize, and improve tooling for complex mechanical and electro-mechanical automation products, including jigs, fixtures, and assemblies.
  • Address sophisticated engineering challenges with innovative solutions to improve tooling performance, ensuring designs meet industry standards of function and performance, while adhering to safety laws
  • Lead and manage multiple tooling development projects, creating schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure accurate completion and cost control
  • Provide engineering support for tooling, machine operation, modifications, maintenance, and supplier interactions, while maintaining detailed project documentation and records.
  • Deliver training for customers and new employees through various programs, and stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and standard processes in tooling design and manufacturing.
  • Lead the coordination of multiple projects between manufacturing, planning & buying teams. Including tryout and acceptance at supplier and customer.
  • Provide engineering documentation for machinery and fixtures to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in tooling development for industrial equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with experience in analyzing complex technical issues and creating effective solutions.
  • Physical capability to transport materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS in Engineering) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP). 
  • 5+ years of experience in tooling development for industrial equipment.
  • Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of tooling design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks).
  • Familiarity with Oracle EBS.
