Job Description:
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with ten or more years of experience in Consulting Engineering. This candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Mechanical Engineering. This position will work with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy efficient buildings for various clients as well as complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a leader and is self-motivated individual who thrives on helping our team and clients be successful.

In your role at CMTA, you will be a Mechanical Engineer with design and production responsibilities producing high quality work on small and large projects, a Project Manager with internal and external team responsibilities, a Client Champion by providing excellent, responsive service for our clients and an Employee Advocate by collaborating, teaching, training, growing and mentoring with other staff members while promoting our Core Values.

The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing systems of buildings all for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects. This position will work with a team of engineers to design energy efficient buildings for various clients of CMTA. Our ideal candidate is typically a self-motivated individual who thrives on helping clients and has a strong technical background. We anticipate they will be involved in all phases of the project. We are seeking candidates who have proven experience with project management and business development as well.

Office Location:
The position is located in the Dublin, OH office.

Desired Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience with MEP design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • PE registration is required
  • Experience with internal and external project management
  • Experience in MEP design and specifications
  • Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
  • Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors
  • Experience with Revit/AutoCAD

Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for designing the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing systems of buildings. Additional duties of the position are as follows but not limited:

  • Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Interacting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operation procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
  • Research and analyze clients design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
