The Mechanical Engineering department in the Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on a multi-discipline team to support Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Tucson, AZ.

This is an on-site role.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement a Transition to Production (TTP) execution strategy for an electronics system, ensuring alignment across Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs).
Identify and address constraints through the CORE Control Room to ensure smooth production flow.
Coordinate and support program proposals, capital requests, and submissions related to the TTP process.
Manage and execute the scope of work under a Transition to Production proposal.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (OPS, QA, SCM, etc.) to align strategies and ensure successful project execution.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve MRL goals.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a mechanical engineering role.
Experience with TTP (Transition to production) strategies.
Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) processes or similar process.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience working in the aerospace and defense industry.
Experience with production transition.
Familiarity with CORE Control Room processes.
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
