Job Overview:

Job Summary: 

As a program manager, you will serve as the main customer contact between the company and assigned customers. In this role, you will manage a set of customers and coordinate all activities during the entire program lifecycle.

The ideal employee in this role has the following attributes:

    • You will field customer inquiries, alert customer to any potential issues, provide solutions to overcome these issues, and ensure complaints/returns are handled appropriately

    • You are responsible for maintaining and analyzing sales, bookings, backlog information as well as monthly margins for each assigned customer.
    • You will track key metrics related to performance and communication and will develop action plans when improvements are needed. 
    • You ensure all customer order information is entered and up to date in company MRP or order entry system.
  • Forward thinking
    • You lead the effort to capture follow-on business with assigned existing customers.
    • You develop a strategy to effectively service each customer using material and build strategies, while preserving the interest of the company. 
  • A team leader
    • You manage projects and teams within each project effectively while maintaining control of the planning, budget and resource allocation.
    • You receive and review customer requirements, generate sales orders and distribute requirements to all departments as needed.
    • You day-to-day leadership, coordination, and direction for the management of contracts with customers.
    • You participate in bid reviews, proposals, negotiations, facility visits and other activities which result in the capture of new business.
    • You collaborate with accounting to review and collect past-due invoices.
    • You provide input to finance for cash flow on key customer accounts.
        

Some additional knowledge, skills & abilities required:

  • Skilled in inventory management techniques (Kanban, bonding, safety stock, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cost and pricing data submission
  • Knowledge of commercial contracting legal requirements, as well as financial and marketing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
       

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of significant customer relationship management experience required
