Job Description
Summary
The Senior Manager, Finance Systems leads the functional execution of enterprise-wide finance systems initiatives, with primary focus on Oracle Fusion ERP optimization and implementation. This role serves as the bridge between finance business requirements and technical delivery, managing complex process designs, system configurations, integrations, and cross-functional implementation workstreams. This leader manages the Finance Systems team focused on Oracle Fusion, business processes, testing, and training delivery, partnering closely with IT for technical infrastructure.
Position Responsibilities
Finance Systems Support & Implementation Leadership
- Oversee production support for existing finance systems (Oracle Fusion, EPM, Apex, and other applications) including functional support, business process execution, and system optimization; lead implementation execution for Oracle Fusion and other finance system projects across all deployment phases and geographies
- Define business requirements and functional specifications for Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Quote to Cash, and Project to Close workstreams
- Design end-to-end business processes, system workflows, and approval hierarchies aligned with business needs and SOX controls
- Coordinate with IT Infrastructure team on technical architecture, integrations, and system performance
- Own integration requirements for finance system connections (Salesforce CRM, Workday HRIS, payment systems, subsidiary ledgers, reporting tools)
EPM, Apex & Finance Transformation Projects
- Provide functional leadership for Oracle EPM Cloud initiatives (PBCS, FCCS, Planning) supporting capital expenditure planning, operating expense budgeting, and financial consolidations
- Support Apex application rollout, configuration, and functional testing for finance-specific workflows, approvals, and data collection processes
- Lead or contribute to finance transformation projects eligible for capitalization, ensuring proper project accounting and documentation for audit compliance
- Partner with FP&A and Accounting teams to align EPM/budgeting solutions with Oracle Fusion financial reporting and actuals
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Supervise and mentor Finance Systems team in functional delivery, testing execution, and training coordination
- Manage relationships with Oracle and implementation partner consultants, coordinating cross-functional workstreams with Finance & Accounting SMEs, IT Infrastructure, Business Unit leads, and external vendors
Business Process & Functional Excellence
- Partner with Finance & Accounting SMEs to document current-state processes, identify gaps, and design future-state workflows optimized for Oracle Fusion capabilities
- Lead process redesign initiatives to eliminate manual work, improve controls, and standardize global practices
- Establish functional governance for system configuration changes and maintain documentation including process flows, decision trees, configuration guides, and business rules
Testing, Training & Change Management
- Own end-to-end testing strategy including unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and regression testing; develop test scripts, coordinate tester assignments, and manage defect resolution through sign-off
- Design and deliver training programs for end users, including curriculum development, training materials, sandbox exercises, and office hours support
- Coordinate with transformation resources on change management communications, stakeholder readiness, and adoption tracking
Production Operations, Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to leverage Oracle Fusion new features and quarterly updates for process improvement
- Partner with Data/AI team to embed intelligent automation, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics into finance workflows
- Drive adoption of self-service reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities for finance stakeholders
AI/LLM Integration & Team Enablement
- Leverage LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini) as productivity tools for requirements documentation, process analysis, and solution research
- Support Senior Data & AI Analyst in identifying use cases for AI agent deployment within Oracle Fusion workflows
- Collaborate on prompt engineering and validation of AI-generated test scripts, training content, and documentation
- Evaluate emerging AI capabilities for finance process automation and provide functional requirements for AI agent development
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive finance systems experience, including at least 3 years in a lead or management role
- Hands-on experience implementing or optimizing Oracle Fusion (or Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, SAP, or comparable Tier 1 ERP)
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, multi-phase finance transformations from requirements through hypercare
Functional & Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in finance business processes, accounting principles, financial close procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of ERP functional configuration, business process modeling, integration design, and testing methodologies
- Experience designing and documenting SOX controls, segregation of duties matrices, and audit trails in ERP systems
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion reporting tools (OTBI, BIP, FBDI), or equivalent reporting platforms (Power BI, Tableau)
- Working knowledge of integration patterns (APIs, web services, file-based interfaces) and ability to define integration requirements for IT
- Experience with Oracle EPM Cloud (PBCS, FCCS, Planning) or comparable budgeting/planning platforms (Anaplan, Adaptive, Host Analytics)
- Experience supporting Oracle Apex or low-code application platforms for finance workflow rollouts
- Understanding of capex project accounting and finance transformation project lifecycle
Leadership & Communication Skills
- Exceptional project management skills with ability to act as program manager for major finance systems initiatives, managing multiple workstreams, dependencies, and competing priorities from planning through post-go-live support
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels — from C-suite executives to front-line users — adapting style and content to audience
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams across Finance, IT, and Business Units, mentor junior staff, and drive accountability for deliverables
- Strategic thinker who balances immediate implementation needs with long-term operational sustainability and continuous improvement
- Experience contributing to finance systems roadmap development, translating business strategy into multi-year technology initiatives with clear prioritization and dependencies
- Ability to develop and articulate data governance frameworks for finance systems, including data ownership, quality standards, access controls, and retention policies
- Understanding of AI strategy considerations for finance functions, including identifying high-value use cases, assessing readiness, managing risks, and aligning AI initiatives with broader business objectives
AI & Emerging Technology Skills
- Working knowledge of LLM capabilities and limitations for business applications (GPT, Claude, Gemini, or open-source alternatives)
- Experience using AI tools for productivity (documentation, analysis, research) and willingness to experiment with new AI capabilities
- Basic understanding of AI agent concepts and ability to collaborate with technical teams on AI solution design
- Experience supporting or contributing to AI/automation proof-of-concepts in finance or systems context (preferred but not required)

The salary range for this role is:
$128,000 - $195,250
