Agenus is a clinical-stage biotechnology company advancing a broad pipeline of immuno-oncology therapies designed to activate the immune system against cancer. We are seeking an Senior Manager, Corporate Development to play a key role in these efforts, working across Business Development, Strategic Finance, and Investor Relations. This highly visible role will lead and support strategic initiatives spanning partnering and capital formation, investor engagement, long-range financial planning, and portfolio opportunities. The individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Clinical, R&D, Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, and CMC to help evaluate opportunities, drive execution, and advance Agenus' strategic priorities.

This role will include leading and supporting projects across Business Development, Strategic Finance, and Investor Relations. It will require project management effort and coordination across cross-functional teams comprising members of the Clinical, R&D, Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, and CMC teams. Within each of the focus areas the following efforts will be part of the roles and responsibilities of this new hire. This role is required to be onsite in Lexington, MA.

Investor Relations

·       Recurring investor engagement, including recurring reach-outs to prospective and existing investors, organization and execution of non-deal road shows, and prospecting of events and other public forums where we can share our narrative with institutional and retail investors

·       Coordination of, and potential participation in, annual Healthcare Conferences

·       Sell-side analyst engagement (existing and prospective covering analysts)

·       Coordination of, and potential participation in, other recurring activities, including quarterly earnings announcements, R&D and Investor days at Medical congresses, and the annual shareholder meeting

Strategic Finance

·       Management and refinement of Agenus all-company multi year pro forma financial model

·       Representing corporate development in cross-functional life cycle management activities

·        Participation in special projects impacting our assets and/or P&L (e.g., financing and/or monetization of non-core business assets)

·       Oversight of existing partnerships (Zydus Outlicensing Partnership, Zydus BOT+BAL CDMO Partnership, Ligand Royalty Partnership)

Business Development & Capital Formation

·       Continued engagement with prospective potential biopharma partners for BOT+BAL

·       Potential leadership of/participation in integration needs post-pharma partnership

·       Continued engagement with prospective BOT+BAL regional partnerships (MENA, LATAM, APAC, E.Europe/CIS)

·       Pipeline activities (AGEN1423, AGEN1777, AGEN2373, etc)

·       Coordination and participation in annual BD-related meetings (JPM, ASCO, BIO)

·       Planning and potential leadership of additional active outlicensing activities for other assets  

 

These activities will primarily be focused on Agenus, but new hire will also participate in similar corporate development-related activities for MiNK Therapeutics and SaponiQx as Agenus family companies.

 

Qualifications: About you

·       Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or other relevant graduate degree) preferred.

·       3+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, private equity/venture capital, or a related field. Biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and/or life sciences-specific experience preferred but not required

·       Experience in business development, strategic finance, transactions, or corporate strategy within the life sciences industry; experience supporting or executing licensing, partnering, financing, or other strategic transactions preferred.

·       Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business, financial, scientific, and clinical information and translate it into actionable recommendations.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, external partners, investors, and cross-functional teams.

·       Highly motivated and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects forward in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The targeted salary range for this position is $120,000 - $159,000 per year.  Agenus is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.  The salary offered is commensurate with Agenus’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, critical needs of the role, and internal equity.
