JOB DESCRIPTION

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Maintenance Technician for Automation assists with the design, implementation,

maintenance and repair of all automated systems within the CFC.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.

Which includes, inspections, repairs and services to automated equipment within manufacturers

guidelines and specifications.

• Provides leadership and/or guidance to less experienced technicians on operation of equipment

during hours you are not here.

• Schedules routine maintenance on all equipment, performs work on assigned Automation for

operation.

• Identifies, orders, and replaces parts necessary to complete repairs for routine maintenance.

• Enters data for work orders, and maintenance time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.

• Responsible for responding to service requests and work orders with little supervision and

direction without interrupting distribution center operations. Responsible for responding to

operational calls for troubleshooting/diagnosing problems with automation systems and

equipment.

• Works as a contributing member of the Maintenance team to provide the best service to the

Customer and maximize the uptime of the Customer Fulfillment Center.

• Interprets machine and building drawings.

• Organizes workshop and maintains assigned tests, maintenance equipment, and tools; orders

replacement parts as needed.

• Maintains a safe work environment by documenting (in writing) potential safety issues

concerning material handling systems and equipment or distribution center facility; communicates

potential safety issues to Facility Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor.

• Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP’s.

• Engages in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.

• Assists leaders in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.

• Performs additional maintenance duties as necessary.

• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of

MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

• Performs all duties within safety guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

• Minimum of five years job-related experience required.

• Certification or Degree in related area of maintenance.

• Training in automation equipment.

• Two or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing controls equipment to include

PLC’s. Programming experience desired but not required.

• Proficiency in conveyor system parts and operation, i.e. merges, sorters, VFD’s, motors.

• Demonstrated knowledge in interpreting and reading hydraulics, electrical information and

pneumatics.

• Ability to operate scissor or boom lifts and work from heights. (30 to 50ft)

• Ability to work safe and utilize LOTO during repairs.

• Ability to work in high pressure situations.

• Willingness to perform tasks as efficiently and quickly as possible.

• Experience performing maintenance on machines such as, robotic packing, print and apply

labels, AMR and modular picking equipment.

• Experience performing maintenance in industrial/warehouse settings.

• Advanced computer literacy (Excel/Word) required.

• Must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.
