Senior Maintenance Technician
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing employer to find a Senior Maintenance Technician who can serve as a key technical resource on the maintenance team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, supporting facility and production systems, leading maintenance-related projects, and helping improve equipment reliability and uptime. The position also has a leadership component, with responsibility for mentoring junior technicians and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, and related systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Lead maintenance projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable federal/state safety regulations
- Complete inspections and maintain accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment history
- Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Mentor and train junior maintenance technicians and apprentices
- Assist with preventive maintenance planning and reliability improvement programs
- Help manage spare parts, tools, and maintenance supply inventory
- Respond to urgent or emergency maintenance issues as needed
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring equipment failures
- Recommend equipment, process, and safety improvements to improve plant performance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical school, trade certification, or associate degree preferred
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facility environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on troubleshooting mindset
- Good communication skills with the ability to support and lead less experienced technicians
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
