Job Overview:

Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician – Industrial Nutraceutical Manufacturing

Location: Batesville, AR

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: First Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (approximately 3–5 hours of overtime per week)

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00/hour, based on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team at an industrial nutraceutical manufacturing facility. This is a highly skilled technical role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives, along with providing technical training to maintenance staff. This position supports maintenance leadership but does not include supervisory responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment used in blending, milling, screening, granulation, compression, encapsulation, coating, filling, sealing, labeling, and packaging operations
  • Serve as subject-matter expert on nutraceutical production equipment, including powder handling systems, ribbon/V-blenders, high-shear mixers, mills, sifters, granulators, dryers, tablet presses, capsule fillers, coating equipment, conveyors, bottle fillers, cappers, labelers, induction sealers, checkweighers, metal detectors, and packaging lines
  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex equipment failures
  • Develop and update PM tasks and technical documentation
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Train maintenance technicians and support skill development
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and special projects
  • Troubleshoot and maintain ancillary systems such as dust collection, compressed air, vacuum transfer, material handling, washdown/CIP-related equipment, HVAC support systems, and facility utilities
  • Support setup, changeover, calibration, sanitation readiness, and start-up of production equipment to reduce downtime and ensure consistent batch-to-batch performance
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting expertise
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Knowledge of food safety, cGMP, allergen control, sanitation, and documentation requirements in nutraceutical, dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on experience maintaining nutraceutical or similar regulated-process equipment such as blenders, mills, sifters, tablet presses, capsule fillers, coating pans, fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, metal detectors, checkweighers, and automated packaging systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certificate or associate degree
  • PLC programming experience
  • Experience with packaging automation, vision/inspection systems, dust collection systems, powder transfer systems, or validated calibration practices
  • Lean/TPM experience
  • Welding/fabrication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions
