Summary/Objective
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of CNC production equipment, including Swiss lathes and related systems, by performing advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. This role operates with a high level of independence, leads complex diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and ensures accurate work order documentation while supporting safe, efficient shop operations. This shift is for 1st (Friday through Sunday: 6:00am to 6:30pm).

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance personnel and work collaboratively with production and leadership.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental Surroundings -Work is performed in a CNC machine shop environment with exposure to high noise levels, moving mechanical equipment, temperature fluctuations, and metalworking processes. The role regularly involves working around production machinery including CNC machines, bar feeders, conveyors, coolant systems, and related equipment.
Unavoidable Hazards -Exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp edges, hot surfaces, metal chips, metalworking fluids, and airborne particulates. Potential hazards include cuts, burns, strains, and pinch points. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective clothing is required.
Equipment / Process Responsibilities -Performs duties where improper maintenance or inattention may result in equipment damage, production downtime, or loss of productivity. Supports maintenance and upkeep of CNC machines and associated systems in accordance with established procedures.
Material or Product Responsibilities -Performs duties requiring attention to detail to ensure equipment is maintained in a condition that supports product quality and process reliability.
Safety Responsibilities - Maintains a clean and organized work area and follows all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
